Triple centuries in cricket

So far more than 30 triple centuries have been scored in Test cricket.  Many cricketers including Virender Sehwag have scored more than 300 runs twice.  But the work that West Indies legend Brian Lara did, no one else could do.  Brian Lara has also played an amazing inning of 400 runs in Test cricket.  But till date only one triple century has been scored in ODI cricket.

Australia's blind cricket team's wicketkeeper-batsman Stephen Nero scored an unbeaten 309 in just 140 balls while playing a Blind Cricket

International match against New Zealand in Brisbane.  Nero had hit 49 fours and 1 six in his innings.  With his innings, the team also made a record score of 541 runs in 40 overs at the loss of 2 wickets.  In response, the New Zealand team was all out for 272 runs and had to face defeat by 269 runs.

With this triple century, Stephen Nero became the eighth Australian cricketer to score a triple century in any format of cricket.  Sir Don Bradman (2 times), Bob Simpson, Bob Cowper, Mark Taylor, Matthew Hayden, Michael Clarke and David Warner were the other seven Australian cricketers to achieve the feat before Nero.

Records break

Along with scoring a triple century, Stephen Nero also broke the record of Pakistan's blind cricketer Masood Jan.  Masood Dan scored an unbeaten 262 against South Africa during the Blind World Cup in 1998.
